Bobby Flay introduces new steak technique and Food Network series
Celebrity chef Bobby Flay is featured in new culinary content involving both specific cooking techniques and a new Food Network competition series.
For preparing thick-cut porterhouse steaks, Flay utilizes a specific method involving bringing the meat to room temperature, salting it heavily, and searing it in a hot, oiled pan for four minutes without flipping. This technique aims to maximize the Maillard reaction to create a deep crust before finishing the steak under a broiler.
Additionally, Flay is the central figure in a new Food Network competition titled ‘Bobby Flay’s The Line’. The show emulates a high-pressure restaurant environment where two teams of chefs compete to serve 240 plates to 40 diners. The competition utilizes a real-time blind judging system where diners score dishes up to five stars without knowing the identity of the chefs.
