Bobby Lee Hart, Jr. faces expanding multi-county sexual assault investigation

Authorities in Georgia have expanded a multi-county investigation into Bobby Lee Hart, Jr., a 53-year-old suspect facing multiple indictments for sexual assault. The probe, which involves Paulding, Douglas, Cobb, and potentially Fulton counties, suggests Hart may have been operating in the region since at least 1988.

Hart is currently held without bond at the Cobb County Jail. His legal troubles began with an arrest in Douglas County on August 9, 2025, involving allegations from 2012, 2022, and 2024. The investigation widened after DNA evidence linked him to a 2006 sexual assault case in Cobb County. In Paulding County, he faces charges including rape, felony assault, and false imprisonment.

Law enforcement agencies, including the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office and the Hiram Police Department, are coordinating the efforts. Investigators are urging anyone who believes they may have been a victim or has information regarding Hart’s activities to contact the Paulding County District Attorney’s Victim Services Unit.
