Bobby Nasution orders acceleration of Nias retaining wall project

North Sumatra Governor Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution has directed the acceleration of a retaining wall construction project located on the border of Nias and West Nias regencies. The project, situated on Gunungsitoli Road in the Hiliserangkai District, is intended to ensure smooth traffic flow ahead of the Christmas and New Year holiday season.

During a site inspection, technical teams reported that the installation of 24 bore piles, each 6 meters high and 14 meters deep, is a primary component of the work. While steel fabrication for the piles is 100 percent complete and materials are on-site, the reinforcement work for the retaining wall itself has reached 50 percent completion.

To address previous delays and meet the holiday deadline, the project contractor has increased daily manpower from an average of 15 workers to over 20. The team is also implementing parallel work streams to expedite the schedule.
