Bobby Nasution reviews irrigation and creative village plans in Gunungsitoli

North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution has conducted site visits in Gunungsitoli to oversee agricultural and urban development projects. He inspected the rehabilitation of the Afia irrigation network in North Gunungsitoli, a project valued at Rp8.6 billion funded by the North Sumatra Provincial Budget. The project aims to expand potential rice field areas from 135 hectares to approximately 170 hectares to bolster food security.

During his visit, Nasution also evaluated a Rp50 billion proposal for the Nou Berkah Creative Village. He cautioned the Gunungsitoli City Government against prioritizing aesthetic tourism improvements while neglecting the living conditions of local residents. He emphasized that the development of the Nou River banks must include the renovation of dilapidated homes, noting that a significant portion of the 410 families in the area live in extreme poverty with low average monthly incomes.
