Bobby Seale to reissue memoir and publish new book

Black Panther co-founder Bobby Seale is set to reissue his 1970 jailhouse memoir, ‘Seize the Time’, and publish a new memoir titled ‘I, Bobby’. The reissue of ‘Seize the Time’ is scheduled for February, while the new book is expected toward the end of 2027.

Seale, who turns 90 next month, originally wrote his first memoir while in a San Francisco County jail during the late 1960s. The upcoming works aim to provide his personal account of the Black Panther Party, which he co-founded with Huey P. Newton in 1966. Seale stated that the new projects are an effort to ensure his story and the history of the movement are told accurately through his own voice and memory.

The reissued edition of ‘Seize the Time’ will include an introduction by D. L. Hughley and will be available in e-book and audio formats for the first time.
