Bobigny police shoot dog after attack on pedestrians

On the night of Thursday, September 24, 2026, a dog attacked several pedestrians in Bobigny, Seine-Saint-Denis. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. in the Rue de Carency near a police station.

Reports indicate that an intoxicated man was walking with two dogs when one of the animals began attacking passersby. At least two or three people were injured during the attack, including one individual who sustained a bite to the calf.

Police officers initially attempted to control the animal using non-lethal methods. However, after the dog continued to pose an immediate threat to the public and officers, police opened fire. According to reports, officers fired approximately ten shots, killing the dog on the spot. The owner has been taken into custody.
