Bobruisk hosts 14th Forum of Twin Cities of Belarus and Russia
The 14th Forum of Twin Cities of Belarus and Russia has commenced in Bobruisk, bringing together municipal representatives to discuss interregional cooperation and integration. The event serves as a platform for discussing economic cooperation, social projects, and the roles of culture and tourism in strengthening ties.
Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko issued greetings to the participants, describing the twin-city movement as a key element of people's diplomacy that provides momentum to integration processes and the building of the Union State. Anatoly Isachenko, Chairman of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee, characterized the movement as a mechanism for joint projects rather than mere protocol.
Currently, twin-city relations connect 35 cities and district capitals in Belarus with over 90 cities and municipal entities in Russia. Boris Batura, Chairman of the Belarusian public association Twin Cities, noted that these ties aim to strengthen trust between city administrations and their respective populations.
