Boca del Río run supports breast cancer detection for low‑income women

The association Mujeres Activas contra el Cáncer de Mama (MUAC) and the Agencia Estatal de Energía de Veracruz (AEEV) will hold a charity run on 12 September 2026 in Boca del Río, Veracruz. The event offers 5 km and 10 km race distances and a 3 km recreational walk, with a registration fee of 500 pesos and an expected participation of up to 2,000 people. Prizes include cash awards for the top three finishers and a draw for an electric bike.

The fundraiser aims to expand early‑detection studies and provide treatment for women of limited resources who lack social security. MUAC president Beatriz Cruz Solórzano said, "No lo teníamos previsto, no teníamos previsto hacer una carrera este año y agradecemos mucho a la Agencia Estatal de Energía porque nos dio ese empujón..." The race will be part of the closing activities of the VII Congreso de Energía, Refinación, Gas y Petroquímica at the World Trade Center in Boca del Río.
