Boca Juniors faces injury crisis as Tomás Aranda suffers fibula fracture

Boca Juniors faces significant roster challenges due to multiple injuries. Most notably, 19-year-old midfielder Tomás Aranda suffered a fibula fracture during training at the Ezeiza facility. The injury, which occurred during a change of direction, requires surgery and is expected to sideline him for three to five months, potentially keeping him out until the 2027 pre-season. Aranda, who wore the number 10 shirt, had become a key offensive figure for coach Rodolfo Arruabarrena.

Additionally, Paraguayan striker Adam Bareiro is in the final stages of rehabilitation for a lumbar disc hernia. The club remains optimistic about his return in September, though he requires intensive physical strengthening to avoid relapse.

Amidst these setbacks, the club is reportedly exploring defensive reinforcements, including interest in Porto defender Nehuén Pérez, to bolster the squad for upcoming Torneo Clausura and Copa Sudamericana fixtures.
