Boca Juniors opens talks for Colombian forward Villa and goalkeeper Montero

Boca Juniors, led by president Juan Román Riquelme, has formally begun negotiations with Independiente Rivadavia to bring striker Sebastián Villa back to the club. The discussions were triggered after Villa posted an Instagram story hinting at a return and after Riquelme’s direct contact with club president Daniel Vila. Villa, captain of Independiente Rivadavia, is valued at about $10 million, though a lower‑amount exit clause exists.

In a separate move, Boca has also reached out to Colombian goalkeeper Álvaro Montero, who is currently on loan at Vélez Sarsfield from Millonarios and a member of Colombia’s World Cup squad. Boca’s interest centers on acquiring Montero’s registration, which Millonarios is prepared to sell for roughly $1.8 million. Both potential signings are seen as key to strengthening Boca’s attack and defense for the second half of the season and the Copa Sudamericana campaign.
