San Lorenzo appoints Néstor Gorosito after Iker Muniain’s coaching‑license problem

San Lorenzo announced a verbal agreement to hire former player Iker Muniain as head coach, planning his arrival from Spain in early June. Minutes later the club discovered that Muniain does not hold a valid Argentine Primera División coaching licence, and negotiations over a release clause with his Spanish club stalled.

Because the licence issue could not be resolved quickly, San Lorenzo turned to former midfielder‑coach Néstor “Pipo” Gorosito. He had been approached earlier in the search and discussions were re‑activated after the Muniain setback. The club said the terms with Gorosito are near finalisation and that an official presentation could be made within days, possibly by mid‑week.
