Boca Juniors plans temporary move from La Bombonera to Huracán’s Tomás Adolfo Ducó

Boca Juniors is evaluating a temporary relocation of its next two Argentine Primera División home matches – against Estudiantes de La Plata and Vélez Sarsfield – to the Tomás Adolfo Ducó stadium, home of Club Atlético Huracán. The club’s board, led by president Juan Román Riquelme, cited the deteriorated condition of La Bombonera’s playing surface after re‑seeding work during the World Cup break, which was exposed during the recent Copa Sudamericana game versus O’Higgins.

Discussions with Huracán are reportedly close to completion, with the venue favored for its proximity to the La Boca neighborhood. Alternative sites such as Racing Club, Vélez Sarsfield and Lanús were also examined, but the Ducó emerged as the primary option. Boca has previously moved home fixtures due to pitch problems, notably to San Lorenzo’s Nuevo Gasómetro in February 2024 and to Vélez’s José Amalfitani stadium in 2022.
