Boca Juniors to face Racing in Copa Argentina quarterfinals

Boca Juniors will face Racing Club in the quarterfinals of the 2026 Copa Argentina this Sunday at the Gigante de Arroyito in Rosario. Boca manager Rodolfo Arruabarrena has confirmed that goalkeeper Leandro Brey will start in place of Álvaro Montero, who is away on international duty with the Colombian national team.

Arruabarrena intends to maintain the lineup used in recent matches against San Pablo and San Lorenzo, making Brey's inclusion the only mandatory change. Brey, who has over 40 appearances for the club, has a strong historical record in the Copa Argentina, including successful penalty shootout performances in previous editions.

The match follows Boca's official qualification to the quarterfinals after a ruling by the Disciplinary Tribunal regarding a claim by Vélez. The rivalry between the two clubs remains significant, with Boca holding a historical advantage in total matches, though Racing has shown competitive growth in recent encounters.
