Enner Valencia signs for Boca Juniors as new striker
Ecuadorian forward Enner Valencia, 36, has agreed to join Argentine club Boca Juniors on an 18‑month contract that runs until December 2027. The free‑agent completed his spell with Pachuca in Mexico and will replace injured forward Adam Bareiro, who is out with a hernia‑disk injury. Negotiations were driven by club president Juan Román Riquelme and coach Rodolfo Arruabarrena, with a medical exam scheduled for the coming weekend before the contract is signed. Valencia becomes Boca’s fourth signing of the window and the second Ecuadorian to play for the Xeneize after Raúl Noriega. While the club also eyes other attackers such as Chimy Ávila, the focus remains on Valencia’s experience and goal‑scoring record, which includes 49 goals for the Ecuadorian national team and a career total of over 180 club goals.
