Boca Juniors eye Luciano Gondou as Zeballos heads to Napoli

Coach Rodolfo Arruabarrena presented a list of forwards to Boca president Juan Román Riquelme, highlighting Argentine striker Luciano Gondou, who is under contract with CSKA Moscow and is valued at €7 million. The club also announced its Copa Sudamericana squad, omitting midfielder Exequiel “Changuito” Zeballos while the player finalises a transfer to Napoli; the Italian side has reportedly offered €8.5 million for the move. Arruabarrena confirmed Zeballos will continue training with the team but will not take part in matches as his departure proceeds.

Boca is also dealing with a lumbar injury to forward Adam Bareiro. In response, the board is evaluating Paraguayan striker Gabriel Ávalos of Independiente as a possible replacement. Recent signings include Leandro Lozano, Álvaro Montero and Sebastián Villa, along with several youth prospects. With the transfer window closing soon, Boca aims to complete its acquisitions before the deadline.
