Boca Juniors strikers Merentiel and Valencia draw praise

Boca Juniors striker Miguel Merentiel is currently experiencing a prolific scoring run, having netted six goals in his last 11 matches. In a recent exchange, Merentiel expressed his ambition to follow in the footsteps of club legend Sergio Manteca Martínez, who holds the record for the most goals scored by a Uruguayan player for the club with 87 goals.

Meanwhile, club icon Martín Palermo has praised new signing Enner Valencia following his hat-trick against Racing in the Copa Argentina. Palermo highlighted Valencia’s positioning and aerial ability, noting that his performance ‘marked the difference’. While Merentiel remains a central figure in the team's tactical setup, Valencia's recent performance provides the squad with significant offensive depth.
