Boca Juniors target Colombian striker Sebastián Villa in squad overhaul

Boca Juniors are preparing for the upcoming Argentine transfer window with a focus on reinforcing the squad. The club has identified Colombian forward Sebastián Villa, currently with Independiente Rivadavia, as a primary target. Villa’s release clause was initially set at US$6 million, but the selling club now seeks US$10 million, a figure Boca is prepared to negotiate.

The interest in Villa is driven partly by the anticipated departure of forward Exequiel Zeballos, whose contract expires at the end of the year and is expected to attract foreign offers. Boca’s broader roster refresh includes confirmed exits for Tomás Belmonte, Williams Alarcón, Kevin Zenón, Ángel Romero, Ander Herrera, Lucas Janson, Edinson Cavani, Milton Giménez, Exequiel Zeballos and Alan Velasco. The club is also set to appoint Rodolfo Arruabarrena as the new manager ahead of the preseason.

In parallel, Boca will compete in the 2026 Copa Sudamericana, facing O’Higgins of Chile in the round‑of‑16, with matches scheduled for 23 July at La Bombonera and 30 July in Chile.
