Boca Juniors target Sebastián Villa as potential replacement for Zeballos
Boca Juniors are evaluating options to strengthen their attack ahead of the second half of the season and have identified Colombian forward Sebastián Villa, currently with Independiente Rivadavia, as a primary target. Villa’s original release clause was $6 million, but strong performances in the first half of the Argentine league have seen his asking price rise to about $10 million. Boca’s leadership, including president Juan Román Riquelme, says the club is prepared to negotiate that amount.
The interest in Villa is partly driven by the looming possibility that winger Exequiel Zeballos may depart the club when his contract expires at the end of the year, with reports suggesting an overseas offer could be on the table. Securing Villa would provide Boca with an experienced attacker to cover a potential gap in the squad for upcoming competitions such as the Copa Sudamericana, the domestic league, and the Copa Argentina.
