Bocca Arena launches “I Custodi di Quarara” coastal protection initiative

The local administration and a group of citizens have signed a Collaboration Pact to launch the “I Custodi di Quarara” initiative. This experimental program focuses on the protection and oversight of Cala di Malavia in the Bocca Arena area.

The group, currently consisting of nine citizens represented by Federica Cambiaggio, will be responsible for the monitoring, care, and animation of the site, as well as reporting instances of illegal waste dumping. In response, the municipality has committed to performing extraordinary cleaning of the area and has activated an insurance policy to ensure the safety of the participants.

Councilor for Participation Gianfranco Casale stated that while the initiative is currently limited to Cala di Malavia, the goal is to expand the program to other coastal areas of Bocca Arena if successful. The project is implemented under the municipal regulation for the shared management of common goods.
