Bochnia District Hospital completes new geriatric ward
The District Hospital in Bochnia has completed the preparation of a new 20-bed geriatric ward. Located on the fifth floor in an extension of the existing building, the fully air-conditioned facility includes three- and four-person rooms, an isolation room, and specialized sanitary facilities adapted for people with disabilities.
The ward is equipped with modern medical technology, including ultrasound machines, cardiac monitors, ECG machines, and beds with anti-decubitus mattresses. It also features a specialized bathroom with a bed-tub to assist patients unable to stand independently. The facility is intended for patients over the age of 65.
While the infrastructure is ready, the hospital must first obtain all necessary operating permits before applying for a service contract with the National Health Fund (NFZ). The project was funded through the Recovery and Resilience Facility (KPO), with a subsidy of over 18.16 million PLN toward a total project value of approximately 34.72 million PLN.
