Emergency services respond to fires and rescues in Switzerland and Germany

Various emergency services in Switzerland and Germany responded to several incidents involving fires and animal rescues over the weekend.

In Switzerland, a fire in Wängi caused several hundred thousand francs in damage to a single-family home after breaking out near the chimney. In Liesberg, a house was fully engulfed in flames, though residents escaped safely and firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to an adjacent stable.

In Germany, a major fire in Bretten affected a barn and a residential building at a zoo, resulting in approximately 220,000 euros in damages. In Bochum, firefighters conducted a three-hour operation to rescue a Jack Russell Terrier named Mala, who had become trapped in a fox den after her leash snagged on tree roots.

Additionally, in Wetter, emergency crews managed fallen trees and cleared debris from roadways to ensure safety.
