Bochum police chase ends in crash and seizure of weapons and drugs

A police pursuit in Bochum ended in a vehicle crash involving two 21-year-old men. The incident occurred around 0:45 AM on Dorstener Straße when the driver, who was already known to the police, attempted to flee an attempted vehicle inspection by accelerating toward Seilfahrt.

The driver lost control at an intersection, striking a concrete pole and a wall. Both the driver and his passenger sustained minor injuries and were transported to local hospitals before being taken into police custody.

A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered various narcotics, a blank-firing weapon, and prohibited knives. A preliminary drug test for the driver returned a positive result, leading officers to take a blood sample for further testing. The vehicle has been impounded, and specialized departments are conducting further investigations.
