Police report multiple robberies and arrests across Germany and Austria

Various criminal incidents and police operations have been reported across Germany and Austria. In Austria, a 38-year-old man was arrested following a series of four armed robberies in Krems and Vienna targeting shops and supermarkets.

In Germany, several robberies and thefts occurred. In Cologne, a 21-year-old store detective used a rental bike to pursue and detain a 36-year-old supermarket robber. In Ibbenbüren, a 19-year-old was detained for a jewelry store robbery. Police in Bochum are seeking witnesses for an attempted kiosk robbery involving a hammer, and in Hanau, two suspects are sought after an e-bike theft involving physical assault.

Authorities are also revisiting a cold case from 1995 involving the murder of a Lidl store manager in Tönisvorst, seeking new witnesses through a dedicated campaign. Other reported incidents include a fatal house fire in Kranenburg, a tram derailment in Bochum, and building subsidence in Athens, Greece, potentially linked to subway construction.
