Bochum Police Investigate Woman for Attempted Corn Snake Disposal

A 37‑year‑old woman attempted to discard her non‑venomous corn snake by placing it in a tied‑up plastic bag inside a trash can on a regional express train at Bochum Hauptbahnhof. Train staff observed the act, alerted the Bundespolizei, and police retrieved the snake from the bin. The animal was handed over to the Feuerwehr Bochum for care. The woman said the snake had become “boring and costly” and she tried to have railway personnel take responsibility for it.
