Bode Museum gold coin theft to be featured in new HBO Max docuseries

HBO Max has released a trailer for ‘Clangold’, a four-part docuseries detailing the 2017 theft of the ‘Big Maple Leaf’ from the Bode Museum in Berlin. The stolen gold coin, weighing 100 kilograms and valued at approximately 3.75 million euros, remains missing and is presumed to have been fragmented and sold.

Directed by Jan Zabeil, the series explores the organized crime networks in Berlin and the subsequent investigation into the heist, which involved thieves entering through a window and transporting the loot via a wheelbarrow and a scooter. The docuseries is scheduled to premiere on November 13.
