Bodean's BBQ chain closes all London restaurant locations
American-style BBQ chain Bodean's has suddenly closed all its remaining London locations, including sites in Soho, Tower Hill, and Camden. The company's website currently displays a message stating, “We’re currently closed,” alongside an apology to customers for the inconvenience.
Founded in 2002 by Canadian restaurateur Andre Blais, the chain once operated eight outlets across the capital. Several locations, including branches in Muswell Hill, Balham, Clapham, and Fulham, had closed in recent years. The brand recently attempted a revitalization under Chef Director Richard Turner, who aimed to return the menu to its Kansas City barbecue roots.
The sudden shutdown follows a period of broader challenges within the hospitality sector, where many businesses have struggled with rising employment costs, inflation, business rates, and decreased consumer spending.
