Bodegas Barbadillo’s Reliquia Amontillado earns perfect 100 points in Guía Peñín 2027
The Reliquia Amontillado from Bodegas Barbadillo has been awarded a perfect 100‑point rating in the 2027 edition of the Spanish wine guide Guía Peñín, the highest possible score. The award comes a few months after the winery’s Bota Única Alcalde Amontillado received 99 points from Parker, underscoring Barbadillo’s status among the world’s leading long‑aged wines.
Guía Peñín granted the maximum score to only eight wines out of roughly 9,400 references from about 2,000 Spanish bodegas. Reliquia Amontillado is drawn from a historic solera in the Marco de Jerez, with production limited to 81 half‑bottles per cask. Each bottle bears hand‑painted labels by the calligrapher Goyo Valmorisco, making each edition a collector’s item. Montse Molina, the winery’s enóloga, highlighted the importance of time, silence and generational knowledge in achieving such a distinction.
