Bodegas Robles showcases Pedro Ximénez wines in Ávila
Bodegas Robles participated in the III Cata en la Muralla de Ávila, a wine tasting event held within the medieval walls of Ávila, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Organized by the Ávila City Council and the Asociación de Sumilleres Abulense, the event hosted approximately 800 attendees, 40 wineries, and 47 sommeliers.
Francisco Robles, manager of the family winery from Montilla, presented four organic wines made from the Pedro Ximénez grape to demonstrate the variety's versatility. The selection included Pedro Ximénez Selección 1927 Oro, Robles Brut Nature 24 meses, VRMT Robles Receta Andalusí, and Piedra Luenga Oloroso Bio. These offerings spanned different styles: a sweet wine, a long-aged sparkling wine, an Andalusian-inspired vermouth, and a dry oxidative oloroso.
The tasting was led by Francisco Robles alongside international sommelier Paco Berenguer Peñaranda. The event featured 70 different wine references from various Spanish regions and countries including Germany, Italy, and Portugal.
