Bodegas Símbolo in Campo de Criptana completes €442k modernization with Vinati grant

Bodegas Símbolo, a cooperative with more than 400 members and over 70 years of history in Campo de Criptana, finished a modernization project valued at €442,000. The upgrade, partially funded by a €209,500 grant from the regional Vinati programme, included the complete remodeling of a former cement‑tank nave to increase storage capacity and improve wine‑making processes.

The project was inspected by the mayor, Santiago Lázaro López, and the regional agriculture councilor, Julián Martínez Lizán, who highlighted the investment’s role in local job creation and sector competitiveness. The Vinati programme, which this project joins, has approved 49 new projects totalling €38.3 million in investment and €12.8 million in subsidies for wineries across Castilla‑La Mancha.

Co‑owner María José Pérez praised the support, noting that the cooperative has received €862,000 in subsidies in previous calls, allowing cumulative investments exceeding €1.75 million. She also pointed to the growing presence of women in leadership within the agro‑food sector. The early harvest, which began on 24 July, is expected to yield high‑quality grapes.
