Bodø/Glimt suffers defensive criticism after Champions League loss to Napoli

Bodø/Glimt faced significant criticism following a 4-3 Champions League defeat against Napoli in Italy. Despite scoring three goals, the Norwegian side struggled defensively, conceding eight goals across two away matches in the competition.

Head coach Kjetil Knutsen expressed frustration over defensive errors, specifically citing poor decision-making when players attempt to pass back to the goalkeeper while under high pressure. Defender Fredrik Sjøvold faced scrutiny for his involvement in several goals conceded, including a lost header to Scott McTominay and a misplaced pass.

In contrast to the domestic criticism, Italian commentators offered praise for the team's tactical identity. Analysts from Napoli Network and CalcioNapoli24 noted that Bodø/Glimt displayed strong organization and a consistent playing style, with some suggesting that Napoli lacks the same level of collective identity. Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero also commended the team's technical and physical strength.
