Bodrum expands public beach access, adding three new sites in Türkbükü

Bodrum Municipality announced that after joint action with the Bodrum District Governorate and the Turkish National Real Estate Directorate, an illegal pier in Türkbükü was removed and three new public beaches were opened, raising the number of public beaches in the Türkbükü neighbourhood to five. The municipality installed umbrellas and signage, designating about 2,350 m² of shoreline, providing 150 umbrellas and sunbed services for visitors.

The Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s free public‑beach programme, which operates across the country, lists 20 sites in 2023, including Bodrum’s popular bays such as Türkbükü, Yalıkavak, İçmeler and Torba. While beach access, umbrellas and sunbeds are free, food and drink are sold, with items such as lahmacun priced around 250 TL. The programme plans to expand to 23 locations by the end of 2026.
