Turkish municipalities launch extensive road and park upgrades
Municipal authorities across Turkey are carrying out a series of infrastructure upgrades. In Bodrum, the municipality is installing 125,000 m² of concrete roads and pavement, with work completed on Piren Avenue and new paving in Çamlık. Yunusemre district cleaned and disinfected parks in the Merkezefendi and Tevfikiye neighborhoods, extending hygiene work to nearby kindergarten areas. Kepez municipality continued a 5,170 m road resurfacing project in Demirel neighbourhood, applying surface asphalt to 39 streets and a section of Fatih Avenue.
In the Bursa region, Mudanya’s rural villages received a combined 8.8 km of surface‑coating work on roads in Hançerli, Yamanlı, Çepni and Hasköy, while the city’s broader road‑renovation programme spans multiple districts. The Kahramanmaraş metropolitan authority began a 2.2‑km reconstruction of Darende Avenue in Elbistan, adding hot‑asphalt, sidewalks and modern lighting. Hatay’s metropolitan council completed a 3.7‑km concrete‑asphalt stretch on the Delibekirli‑Karataş road in Kırıkhan, adding safety markings.
Aydın’s metropolitan government is simultaneously upgrading roads in dozens of neighbourhoods across its districts, covering everything from new sidewalks to pavement renewal. In Balıkesir, the metropolitan municipality is widening and leveling farm and olive‑grove roads in five districts to support the 2026 Farmer Support Programme, improving access for tractors and harvest equipment. These coordinated efforts aim to enhance transport safety, comfort and economic activity throughout the country.
