Bodrum Municipality holds domestic composting training for women

Bodrum Municipality held the first stage of its domestic composting training program specifically for women. Organized by the Directorate of Climate Change and Zero Waste and the Directorate of Agricultural Services, the session took place at the Herodot Cultural Center.

The training focused on the collection of organic kitchen waste at the source and its processing using the Bokashi method to reduce household waste. Participants received information on application stages, maintenance, and how to utilize the fermented organic products.

As Bodrum is a designated Zero Waste Pilot District, the initiative coincides with October being recognized as Food Waste Month. To encourage immediate implementation, participants were provided with Bokashi compost bucket sets to use in their homes. The municipality intends to continue these educational activities to expand zero waste awareness and sustainable living habits among a broader audience.
