Bodrum hosts Nostalgic Cinema Days at historic venue

Bodrum Municipality organized the ‘Nostalgic Cinema Days’ event at the historic Sinema Otopark in the Tepecik neighborhood on September 25–26. The event aimed to revive the local cultural memory of an area that served as an open-air cinema and wedding venue approximately 50 years ago.

The program featured classic films, including the 1976 film ‘Bodrum Hakimi’ starring Türkan Şoray and Kadir İnanır, and the 1974 film ‘Yazık Oldu Yarınlara’. During the screenings, historical footage of Bodrum from half a century ago was projected, providing a nostalgic experience for the approximately 600 attendees.

In addition to film screenings, the event included performances of Yeşilçam movie music and local folk songs. Local officials, including Deputy Mayor Ercan Pehlivan, attended the ceremonies, emphasizing the importance of preserving the region's cultural heritage and social gathering points.
