Bodrum Municipality supports Green Mandarin harvest

The harvest of Green Bodrum Mandarins is currently underway in Bodrum, Turkey. To ensure high quality, the fruit must meet specific criteria: a size of approximately 35 to 45 millimeters, a green and bright appearance, and a juicy texture while remaining not fully ripened.

Bodrum Municipality is providing technical support to producers and monitoring product development. Through a partnership with Bodrum Belediye A.Ş., the municipality aims to increase market access by connecting the fruit with the gastronomy, tourism, and beverage sectors.

Ercan Pehlivan, Deputy Mayor of Bodrum and an agricultural engineer, noted that the green mandarin has become a sought-after product, particularly in hotel and restaurant menus. Efforts are also being made to conduct R&D for industrial use and to develop cold chain solutions to ensure the product can be supplied to consumers throughout the year.
