Bodrum water main burst causes significant damage in Gölköy

A major water main burst occurred in the Demirbükü area of the Gölköy neighborhood in Bodrum, Muğla, causing a large crater to form and significant water loss. Gendarmerie teams arrived at the scene to manage traffic and ensure security, implementing controlled, one-way passage.

MUSKI teams immediately cut the water supply to the affected line and began emergency repairs. According to a statement from MUSKI, the failure occurred in an old CTP main transmission line. The agency noted that while repairs are expected to continue through the night, no long-term water outages are anticipated, and continuous service should resume by morning.

MUSKI further clarified that the burst was limited to the older CTP pipes, whereas the newly installed ductile iron pipes have functioned without issue. Plans are underway to replace an additional 21 kilometers of the northern line with ductile iron pipes to prevent future failures.
