Brazil crime reports: multiple arrests and investigations

Several criminal investigations and legal developments are unfolding across Brazil. In Goiás, a woman was arrested in the Distrito Federal after being sentenced to 26 years in prison for the 2017 murder of her two-year-old son, Alexandre Coutrim Rodrigues. Investigators determined she killed the child because he resembled his father.

In Rio Branco, Amanda Lima Moura was sentenced to 38 years in prison for the 2020 murder of Kesia Nascimento da Silva. The victim was reportedly executed by a criminal organization in a “tribunal do crime” after being decapitated and dismembered.

In Arapongas, Paraná, a municipal teacher has been suspended following allegations that she administered clonazepam, a sedative, to a child at a municipal education center to make her sleep. Surveillance footage reportedly captured the act, and the Civil Police have opened an inquiry.

Other notable incidents include the discovery of the body of 26-year-old Débora Carvalho de Oliveira in a well in São José dos Pinhais, Paraná. Authorities are investigating the possibility of feminicide. Additionally, a man wanted for homicide in Pernambuco was apprehended in a rural area of São José dos Pinhais.
