Body found in shallow grave in Teresina, Brazil

Police in Teresina, Piauí, discovered a body buried approximately 1.5 meters deep in a clandestine grave in the Vila São Francisco neighborhood. The discovery was made following intelligence reports and was facilitated by a search dog from the K9 Operations Unit.

The deceased is believed to be Wesley Leal da Silva, who has been missing since October 16. Preliminary identification by family members was based on tattoos, orthodontic appliances, and the clothing the individual was wearing at the time of his disappearance.

Official confirmation of the identity is pending forensic examination by the Institute of Legal Medicine (IML). The operation involved the Civil Police, Military Police, the K9 Operations Unit, and the Military Fire Department.
