Body found near Àger following search for missing paraglider

A search for a 56-year-old French paraglider has led to the discovery of a body near Àger, Spain. The individual was reported missing after failing to return from a flight at Montsec d’Ares on Saturday.

Following reports from witnesses that the paraglider may have been swept toward the Terradets reservoir by strong winds, search teams expanded their efforts. On Tuesday, a Mossos d'Esquadra helicopter located a paragliding wing near Cigló de la Grallera, between Àger and Vilanova de Meià. The GRAE (Special Rescue Group of the Firefighters) subsequently discovered a lifeless body at the site.

Mossos d'Esquadra are currently working to officially certify the identity of the deceased. The search had previously been complicated by conflicting witness testimonies regarding the exact timing of the disappearance and challenging weather conditions, including turbulence and storms in the area.
