Sitges: Body of missing 12-year-old boy Rami recovered from sea

The body of Rami, a 12-year-old boy who disappeared in Granollers during severe storms on October 4, has been recovered from the sea near Sitges.

Mossos d'Esquadra confirmed that the remains, found floating in the water, were identified by forensic experts. The discovery follows an 11-day search that was complicated by heavy rain, wind, and adverse sea conditions. While the body was located in Sitges, investigators noted that marine currents could have moved the remains from other locations.

Prior to the identification, the family had expressed concerns regarding the possibility of kidnapping due to the boy's autism, though authorities focused their search efforts on flooded rivers and water basins. Salvador Illa, the president of the Generalitat, expressed his condolences to the family following the confirmation of the boy's death.
