Body of shot Bangladeshi man found near Kanaighat border

Police in Kanaighat, Sylhet, have recovered the body of 25-year-old Shahin Ahmad near the border area of Sonarkheor. The body, which showed gunshot wounds on the back, was discovered in an agricultural field near border pillar 1328 on Saturday afternoon.

Ahmad, a day laborer and father of two, had left his home on Friday night and failed to return. Local residents suspect he may have been shot by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) or armed Khasi individuals while attempting to cross the border for work, as he frequently traveled to India to work in Khasi settlements.

Officer in Charge Aminul Islam of the Kanaighat Police Station confirmed the recovery and stated that an investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances of the shooting. The body will be handed over to the family following an autopsy.
