Body paint exhibition opens in Ciudad Juárez

The exhibition “Crónicas de la Piel: Skin Canvas Collective” has opened at the Germán Valdés Tin Tan Art Room in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua. Sponsored by the Institute for Culture of the Municipality of Juárez (Ipacult), the showcase features a combination of photography, body painting, and audiovisual resources to document the work of local artists.

The exhibition highlights the discipline of body paint, using the human body as a canvas. It includes photographs from collective sessions dating back to 2018, presented in various sizes and paper types, alongside workbooks and videos that illustrate the creative process. The exhibit is designed as an immersive and interactive experience, allowing visitors to observe the creation stages and provide feedback.

Participating artists include makeup artist Yessica Rosales Márquez, body artist Anabel Saucedo, photographer Jesús Juárez, and visual artist David Zapién Lerma. The collection emphasizes the ephemeral nature of body paint, noting that while the physical art disappears, photography and video serve as essential tools for preservation. The exhibition is open to the public with free admission until August 30.
