Toshisuke Kanazawa wins 19th bodybuilding title at age 90

Toshisuke Kanazawa, a 90-year-old Japanese bodybuilder, continues to achieve success in competitive bodybuilding. Recently, he secured his 19th national title by winning the over-85 category at the Japan Masters Bodybuilding Championships.

Kanazawa, who was born in 1936 in Shimane Prefecture, originally pursued swimming before a muscular issue led him to bodybuilding. He has maintained a disciplined lifestyle to support his longevity, including a diet of brown rice, fermented soybeans, miso soup, and eggs, while avoiding meat, fish, alcohol, and smoking. He currently trains six days a week for two hours a day at his gym in Hiroshima.

In a recent competition, Kanazawa also participated in his first mixed doubles bodybuilding event alongside a partner, appearing in red attire to match her bikini. While the duo placed fourth, Kanazawa expressed a desire to continue competing until age 95 or even older.
