Boehringer Ingelheim completes new factory wing in Koropi

Boehringer Ingelheim has completed the construction of a new wing at its manufacturing facility in Koropi, Greece. The expansion, which began in early 2024 and was finalized in 2025, is part of a larger investment program valued at approximately 120 million euros scheduled for the 2023–2027 period.

The facility is transitioning into a production phase to manufacture innovative medicines, including a new treatment for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. The Greek unit has evolved from a local supplier into an international production hub, exporting anti-diabetic medications to more than 90 countries.

Financial reports indicate that investment payments for Boehringer Ingelheim Greece reached 31.05 million euros in 2025. Ongoing investments continue to focus on production lines, mechanical equipment, and building facilities to enhance the site's strategic importance to the global group.
