Boehringer Ingelheim highlights PRRS research at IPRRS Symposium 2026

Boehringer Ingelheim participated as a Gold Sponsor in the IPRRS 2026 symposium held in Barcelona from October 6 to 8. The international event gathered approximately 400 researchers, veterinarians, industry professionals, and students to discuss advancements in the prevention, understanding, and control of Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS).

Experts addressed topics including molecular virology, pathogenesis, immunity, diagnostics, epidemiology, and vaccination strategies. The symposium also covered other porcine viruses such as Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea (PED) and Influenza A.

During the event, Víctor Rodríguez, a swine veterinary advisor for Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health Spain, received an award for his scientific poster regarding the detection of PRRSV on surfaces. Additionally, Elisa López from Piensos Costa was named the winner of the PRRS Awards.
