Boehringer Ingelheim launches cardiovascular risk awareness initiative

Boehringer Ingelheim Greece has launched a global awareness initiative titled ‘Recognize the SOS’ to coincide with World Heart Day. The campaign focuses on the early detection of albuminuria, an increase in albumin protein in the urine, which serves as a critical early indicator of heightened cardiovascular risk.

The initiative emphasizes the use of the uACR urine test to identify these ‘silent’ warning signs. The campaign’s central message is: ‘When the kidneys send an SOS for your heart, do not ignore them.’

The program is supported scientifically by seven medical organizations, including the Hellenic Nephrology Society, the Hellenic Cardiological Society, and the Hellenic Diabetes Association, among others. It also receives backing from various patient associations. The awareness plan includes television and radio spots, digital content, and information drives in pharmacies to promote early diagnosis and prevention.
