Boeing and FIRST Scandinavia bring Newton Room to Bari

Boeing and the non-profit foundation FIRST Scandinavia have brought the Newton Room to the Politecnico di Bari for a second time. The initiative provides approximately 250 students from across the Puglia region with hands-on STEM education through aviation-themed learning.

Hosted at the Politecnico di Bari for nearly two weeks, the program includes the “Newton Up in the Air with Numbers” module. In this session, students use mathematical calculations to plan and execute observation flights using flight simulators. To support the program, four professors from the Politecnico will be trained as Newton Educators, while four doctoral students will serve as flight simulator instructors.

The Mobile Newton Room is a fully equipped classroom built within two specially designed containers, intended to deliver high-quality STEM education regardless of local infrastructure. Since its debut in Spain in 2019, the project has traveled across Europe, including stops in Italy, France, England, Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
