Boeing considers boosting 737 output to match Airbus narrow‑body production

Boeing is evaluating a possible increase in monthly production of its best‑selling 737 jet from the announced target of 63 aircraft to around 70 units. The plan, still in early study, would test the resilience of Boeing’s supply chain and bring its output nearer to rival Airbus’s goal for the A320neo family, which aims for 70‑75 jets per month by the end of 2027. Boeing has already raised the 737 MAX rate to 47 aircraft per month after consulting the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, and CEO Kelly Ortberg said the new cadence could be reached within a few months. Airbus currently produces about 60 narrow‑body jets monthly and expects to stabilize at 75 per month after 2027.
