Boeing engineers ratify four-year contract, averting strike
Boeing engineers have ratified a new four-year contract with the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA), averting a potential strike that could have halted the 777X certification program.
The agreement includes an immediate 10% raise effective October 2, followed by a 4% increase in March 2027. Subsequent annual wage pools for 2028 through 2030 are expected to be worth 6% each, with a guaranteed minimum of 4%. SPEEA projects an estimated average compound gain of approximately 32% over the four-year period.
Beyond wages, the package updates work-from-home policies, implements overtime limits for the professional unit, increases 401(k) contributions for younger employees, and establishes caps on mandatory overtime. The ratification saw 67.62% approval from the professional unit, while the technical unit approved the deal with a narrower margin of 53.48%.
