Boeing expected to report third-quarter loss despite production milestones

Boeing is projected to report a third-quarter net loss of approximately $153 million, or 21 cents per share, according to LSEG data. While this represents a significant improvement from the nearly $6 billion loss reported during the same period last year, the company continues to face financial and operational pressures.

Despite recent successes, such as winning the US Navy’s sixth-generation F/A-XX fighter contract and receiving FAA certification for the 737 MAX 10, Boeing is working to stabilize production. The company aims to reach a monthly output of 47 737 jets and is attempting to increase 787 Dreamliner production from eight to 10 aircraft per month.

Analysts are closely monitoring Boeing’s free cash flow, which is expected to be $330.5 million for the third quarter and $2.3 billion for the full year. Cash generation is currently impacted by capital expenditures, including the certification of the 777-9 and the construction of new defense production facilities.
